PDO MONO AND LIFTING THREADS

WHAT ARE PDO THREADS? PDO stands for Polydioxanone, an absorbable polymer that is flexible and durable.

HOW DO PDO MONO THREADS WORK? Once inserted into the skin, PDO threads are intended to support collagen production, which may contribute to a gradual skin tightening and rejuvenation effect over time. Any changes are typically gradual — initial changes may be seen from around 6 weeks, with further changes possible over the following months. As the threads dissolve, their effects may last up to around 12 months, though this varies between individuals. PDO lifting threads also support collagen production, and may provide an immediate lifting effect at the time of treatment, in addition to the gradual effects described above.

WHAT TO EXPECT Results vary between individuals and are not guaranteed. Suitability for PDO mono or lifting threads is assessed on an individual basis during consultation.

POTENTIAL RISKS Potential risks include bruising, swelling, discomfort, infection, thread migration or extrusion, asymmetry, and palpable or visible threads under the skin. A full discussion of risks relevant to you will take place during your consultation.
